It became known at what development of events the implementation of such a scenario is possible.
Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko made a resonant statement.
According to him, if the launch of the Nord Stream “2 ” significantly reduces gas supplies through Nezalezhnaya, then Kiev will reorient the gas system for domestic needs.
Galushchenko said this during a meeting with his German counterpart Andreas Feicht.
He stressed that in this case, a number of EU countries may not have enough gas.
At the same time, the route of blue fuel to Europe may be blocked, which will allow Russia to seize even greater levers of influence.
German Galushchenko stressed that gas supplies through Ukraine are the only route of fuel supplies to Europe that is not controlled by the Russian Federation.
At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Minister of Energy, this route remains underutilized, since about 70% of the system is not used now.
According to Galushchenko’s assumption, after the launch of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, only 10-15 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be pumped through Ukraine.
This will not allow the gas transportation system to fully operate, so it will pump 30 billion cubic meters of gas required for the needs of the country.
Earlier, topNews wrote that Gazprom announced the completion of the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.
According to experts, the system is fully ready for operation.
