It is assumed that the chain will include 250 fast food restaurants.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin at a meeting with the heads of retail chains and catering enterprises announced the decision to allocate 500 million rubles for a targeted loan.

It is assumed that the money on preferential grounds will go to create a chain of fast food restaurants, an analogue of McDonald’s, which announced the closure of its establishments in the country the day before.

According to Interfax, referring to the words of the mayor, it is assumed that the Russian analogue will be able to replace 250 McDonald’s establishments in a year, covering consumer demand in the capital.

Sobyanin explained that the decision was made after a conversation with the management of a number of Moscow enterprises that are already working in the same field.

He recalled that 99% of American fast food products were supplied by Russian firms. Now the authorities will be asked to use the same personnel potential for the Russian counterpart.

According to the mayor, at the moment there are over 12,000 catering enterprises operating in Moscow, which have appeared over the past 5 – 8 years, and they will quietly replace foreign restaurants that will not be able to return to the market for another 6 – 12 months.

As Topnews wrote earlier, in a statement “McDonald’s” said that the salary of employees of closed restaurants will be maintained at least until May 2022.
