Germany will not make decisions on Nord Stream 2 in the first half of 2022.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on the suspension of certification of Nord Stream-2.
According to him, such a decision by the German authorities is of a non-political nature.
Scholz stressed that the pipeline is a commercial project implemented with the involvement of private investment, and the decision on it in Germany was not made on the basis of politics, writes TASS.
As the Chancellor stressed, such a procedure provides for a large number of consultations, and the process is still ongoing, writes TASS.
Bloomberg also writes with reference to the Federal Network Agency of Germany that in the first half of 2022 it is not expected to make a decision on the certification of “SP-2”.
The head of the agency, Jochen Homman, stressed that the regulator still does not have the necessary documents from the operator.
“It’s not in our hands”, – he said.
According to Homman, the certification process suspended in November can be resumed after the requirements are met.
So, we are talking about the creation by the operator of a separate company that will manage a section of the pipeline in Germany.
Against this background, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, considered the situation with the suspension of pipeline certification politicized.
He noted that we are talking about both the policy of the West and the internal German policy related to the change of government.
Recall that the certification was suspended on November 16. According to the plan, this process should be completed on January 8, 2022, but as a result, these deadlines have been postponed indefinitely.
Earlier, topNews wrote that Germany declared the impossibility of approving Nord Stream-2. The Polish Prime Minister promised not to allow the pipeline to be launched.
