The proposal was made by German officials.
The Russian company Gazprom was offered to sell the Nord Stream-2 pipeline, which was stretched to Germany.
According to the new EU rules, the pipeline can be partially filled by an alternative supplier. In another case, the part of it that is located on the territory of the EU must belong to another company.
Earlier, Nord Stream AG filed a complaint with the Supreme Land Court of Dusseldorf, demanding that Nord Stream-2 be withdrawn from the new EU directive. The court refused to satisfy the complaint.
Currently, the company is preparing for a new decision, it does not agree with the court verdict, RIA Novosti writes.
Meanwhile, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper writes that Europe is offering to sell the pipeline, which will bypass the gas directive. This was confirmed by anonymous German officials.
Recall that Germany and the United States demand to ensure the supply of fuel to Ukraine after 2024 with the help of Nord Stream-2. America also wants to promote its LNG in Europe.
As Topnews wrote earlier, Gazprom called 2021 the launch date of the Nord Stream – 2 pipeline, whose capacity is 55 billion cubic meters per year.
