Car dealers: 14 out of 60 brands remained on the Russian market

The number of brands on the market fell by 46 names.

The Association of “Russian Car Dealers ” sent a letter to auto brands from China, indicating in the document the number of cars remaining on the Russian market.

So, as RIA Novosti reports with reference to the document, at the end of 2022, 14 brands out of 60 that were in the country at the beginning of 2022 are available in Russia.

At the same time, only three brands are domestic – Lada, GAZ and UAZ, the rest belong to China: Chery, Geely, Haval, Jac, Faw, Dongfeng, Changan, Exeed, Gac, Foton and Omoda.

The document states that the Russian car market is already 78% Chinese at the moment, even taking into account national brands that operate in the Russian Federation.

ARAD reports that all trade car brands in Europe, the USA and Korea have suspended deliveries of cars to the country, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade has included them in the list of parallel imports.

So, under such conditions, Russians buy Volkswagen, Skoda, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lamborghini, Infiniti, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford, General Motors, Bugatti, Bentley, Jeep, Chrysler, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Aston Martin.

Already, the agency notes, there is a noticeable shortage in the sedan market, and the shortage of foreign cars will continue to grow in 2023. Parallel imports cannot completely solve the shortage of supply, analysts say.
