Insiders suggest that the businessman “hijacked” his own ship.
British media reported the loss of the luxury yacht of Russian billionaire Dmitry Mazepin. Earlier, in Italian Sardinia, the Aldabara was detained in the port of Olbia – a 22-meter sea vessel, whose cost is estimated from 700 thousand to 1 million euros.
The Guardian reports that the yacht was arrested in Sardinia after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions. Mazepin was placed on the sanctions list.
The yacht was parked in March, while official evidence was being prepared that it belonged to a Russian.
In June – a few hours before the announcement of her belonging to Mazepin – the yacht disappeared.
A source in Sardinian law enforcement agencies reported that Dmitry Mazepin belongs to the missing yacht.
“Mazepin knew that he was on the list, but managed to make the most of the period during which we worked to establish that the boat belongs to him,” insiders reported.
Police officers believe that an oligarch from Russia could have hired a foreign company and made a deal with the captain. It was he who overtook the vehicle. It is known that the yacht made a stop in Tunisia, and there is no data on where the ship is now.
According to media reports, Mazepin, the company and the captain face a fine of 500 thousand euros.
By the way, The Guardian has not officially provided data that the yacht belongs to Mazepin.
As Topnews wrote earlier, in April 2022, the luxury yacht Amadea, owned by Suleiman Kerimov, was detained in Fiji.
