In addition, it became known that the European Union was going to introduce new anti-Russian sanctions next week.
The European Union has found a loophole on how to pay for gas in rubles without violating the sanctions policy against Russia.
According to the Reuetrs agency, the European Commission has already sent out a letter with instructions on how and how to pay for gas supplies from Russia to EU countries.
One of such schemes is the instruction to open an account by the recipient companies of Russian gas in Gazprombank bank in foreign currency.
After that, funds in euros are deposited to these accounts, which will then be converted into the Russian ruble, and they will already pay for gas supplies.
At the same time, the European Commission stressed that the procedure for deviations from the requirements of Vladimir Putin’s decree with settlements in rubles with unfriendly countries is not yet clear.
It is worth noting that the UK authorities have already issued a license to pay for Russian fuel until May 31 under previously concluded contracts through Gazprombank and its subsidiaries.
In addition, as it became known to the Politico newspaper from a source in the EC, next week the EU intends to adopt a new package of sanctions against Russia. This package will be the sixth.
According to the source of the publication, the package may include a number of bans on the import of Russian oil to European countries, as well as disconnecting a number of other Russian banks from the SWIFT system.
It also follows from the announcement that the EU may adopt some mechanisms that will reduce the income of the Russian Federation from oil exports abroad.
Earlier, Topnews wrote that the Austrian Chancellor said that Putin allowed to pay for gas in euros.
