The European Union has introduced the previously agreed eighth package of sanctions against Russia.
The reason was the accession to Russia of four regions (DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions) following the results of the past referendums.
The decision was announced in the EU Council.
The next package of sanctions includes the ceiling of oil prices of the Russian Federation, the ban on the import of Russian steel products (including finished products or equipment made of steel), as well as organic imports of wood from the Russian Federation, paper, cigarettes, plastics and cosmetics, jewelry and chemical products, leather, ceramics and other goods.
There is also a ban on the sale of civilian firearms, military vehicles and equipment in the Russian Federation.
In addition, the provision of IT, engineering and legal services to Russian companies, as well as the maintenance of crypto wallets of citizens and residents of the Russian Federation, have also been banned.
Punishment is also provided for persons who contribute to circumventing the sanction.
In addition, a number of individuals and legal entities were also sanctioned, including artists. Among the latter were such patriots of Russia as Yulia Chicherina, Nikolai Rastorguev and Oleg Gazmanov.
The sanctions list also includes philosopher Alexander Dugin and the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova.
Among the legal entities, Goznak, Irkut Corporation and Avangard machine-building plant were sanctioned.
