The businessman confirmed “huge difficulties”.
Russian media reported major financial losses of the owner of FC Spartak Moscow Leonid Fedun.
According to a source “Match-TV”, the vice president of Lukoil lost up to 80% of his fortune against the background of Russia’s military special operation in Ukraine.
Even before the start of the special operation, according to Forbes, Fedun could lose 631 million dollars.
At the same time, Roman Abramovich became poorer by $ 114 million, Mikhail Fridman by $ 206 million, and Suleiman Kerimov by $ 420 million.
After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Fedun made a proposal to fix the euro exchange rate on salaries and transfers.
The businessman called the euro level – 90 rubles, recalling that there are foreigners in Spartak who are paid in this currency.
In response, the Tinkoff RPL clubs agreed with this decision and fixed 90 rubles for the payment of salaries to football players within the country.
Now Leonid Fedun confirms that he has faced difficulties due to sanctions, but continues to finance Spartak.
“There are huge difficulties, but I continue to finance Spartak,” says Fedun.
Recall that in 2021 in the Russian rating of businessmen, according to Forbes magazine, Fedun took the 16th place. His fortune was $11.1 billion.
As Topnews wrote earlier, in October 2021, the media wrote about the treatment of Fedun, who left for Germany.
Sources reported about the cardiovascular disease of the owner of the football club, but the press service of Spartak called for respect for Fedun’s personal life.
