A case has been initiated in Kuban against two factories that overestimated the price of sugar

FAS checked the check and found violations.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has reported on the progress of inspections in Russia on the fact of an unjustified increase in sugar prices. So, a case has been initiated against two sugar factories in the Kuban.

According to the service, the management of the plants is suspected of cartel conspiracy. If their guilt is proven, then the participants in the conspiracy will face a turnover fine.

The reason for the initiation of the case was the appeal of the head of the Krasnodar Territory, the prosecutor’s office, who wanted the FAS to check the selling prices of factories.

As the authorities of the region assured, there were no objective reasons for the price increase, but the competing enterprises did it at the same time, which means that collusion is seen in this.

We are talking about the “Tikhoretsky Sugar Combine” and the Pavlovsky Sugar Factory. In March, factories increased wholesale and selling prices for sugar by almost a third.

The price per kilogram of sugar became 68.3 rubles. And the cost of sugar per kilogram is 28.66 rubles.

According to RIA Novosti, the FAS also suspected wholesale sugar suppliers in the Kemerovo region of shipping goods at high prices.

And large retailers Pyaterochka and Magnit were suspected of deliberately not supplying sugar to stores in the Voronezh Region – while sugar was stored in sufficient quantities in warehouses.

According to the Telegram channel MASH, the managers of Magnit assured that sugar in the Vladimir region was going to be shipped to 826 stores, it would be enough for a day and a half. And the markup on sugar was agreed with the FAS and was the lowest, allegedly it did not even cover transportation costs.

As Topnews wrote earlier, the Russians made an unprecedented rush for sugar and offered things in return.

Others staged fights in hypermarkets, trying to snatch more packs. The authorities assure that there is no shortage of sugar in Russia.
