The ship planned to reach the port in Primorye, but did not have time.
Fiji media reported on the arrest of the luxury yacht Amadea, which belongs to Russian businessman Suleiman Kerimov. Earlier it was reported that the mega-yacht is trying to get to the port of Primorye, but it was not possible to withdraw it from sanctions.
According to the publications, the vessel turned out to be in the economic zone of Fiji, without any permission from the authorities.
According to the current legislation of Fiji, in order to enter their port, foreign vessels must have permits from several government departments and services at once.
This includes the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, Health, and the Department of Immigration.
The yacht was detained, and the police began to identify the owner.
“The yacht belongs to the Russian Suleiman Kerimov, included in the Western sanctions list,” sources say.
Prior to that, The Fiji Times reported that Amadea was moored in the port of Lautoka.
And the service that tracks the vessels found that Kerimov’s yacht arrived in Fiji after 18 days of travel from the Mexican port of Manzanillo. The vessel was flying the flag of the Cayman Islands.
Recall that Kerimov was sanctioned by the European Union and the United States.
Before that, another Russian oligarch’s family lost an expensive yacht. Hamburg authorities confiscated the 156-meter yacht Dilbar. Its cost is about $ 600 million.
According to preliminary data, the vessel belongs to the sister of Alisher Usmanov.
As Topnews wrote earlier, Roman Abramovich also suffered from anti-Russian sanctions.
The authorities of the island of Jersey have frozen $ 7 billion from him, which is almost half of the Russian billionaire’s fortune.
