Oleg Paroev, CEO of the fast food restaurant chain “Delicious – and dot” explained the disappearance of French fries from the menu of a number of establishments.
According to him, cited by RBC, the reason is the refusal of foreign manufacturers of semi-finished products to supply it to the country.
Due to the fact that the headquarters of these enterprises are located in unfriendly states, it is difficult to supply a product even from friendly ones.
Paroev mentioned the potato crop year in Russia, which is why there are not enough vegetables of their own, and there are no potatoes of those varieties that are used for fries.
So, 85% of the semi-finished product was from Russia, about 15% was imported, which guaranteed uninterrupted supply. Therefore, a global provider of Germany, Poland and France, could put the potatoes in Russia from their factories.
“They belong to five or six major companies”, – he clarified.
Earlier, Topnews wrote that in “ Delicious – and dot” stated that French fries will appear on the menu no earlier than the autumn of 2022. At the same time, it was said about the crop failure of the necessary potato varieties in the country.
