Customers started complaining about the new restrictions.
Sberbank and VTB clients cannot transfer currency between Russian banks. The call center explains that the restrictions are related to the “current situation”.
According to RIA Novosti, consultants say that the BEAC cannot “guarantee that a currency transfer to another bank will take place with you.” Call centers advise you to convert money into rubles, and then transfer it.
Sberbank now has only transfers in rubles – no one could orient the timing. As soon as the relief is in the restrictions, the banks will resume currency transfers.
VTB has the same situation – currency transfers have been stopped. The call center also could not name the deadline by which the option will be restored.
The state bank says they are looking for alternative channels for such transfers.
In the meantime, payments in Belarusian rubles, Kazakh tenge, Armenian drams, Azerbaijani manats are available to Russian VTB clients.
Legal entities can also translate in Vietnamese dong. Companies can spend money in Chinese yuan and Indian rupees under trade agreements.
The press service of the Moscow Exchange, whose group includes the National Settlement Depository, said that there is no information about restrictions on currency transfers between banks.
Earlier, the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, said that under the sanctions, banks in Russia should limit their currency position as much as possible. Banks will continue to reduce the volume of foreign exchange transactions, they may not even offer such products to customers.
As Topnews wrote earlier, under the conditions of sanctions and difficulties with the supply of equipment, mobile operators in Russia began to take money for issuing SIM cards.
