The West is discussing the lifting of sanctions against Russian businessmen in exchange for assistance to Ukraine: Aven and Friedman have already burned themselves on this

According to the West, Russian businessmen can “buy off” sanctions.

In the West, they offered to give businessmen of the Russian Federation the opportunity to buy off the sanctions imposed against them.

This will be possible if business representatives direct their financial assistance to the restoration of Ukraine.

According to the Associated Press, the author of the initiative was Canadian Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

He voiced his opinion at the meeting of the G7 countries.

She stated that she had discussed this initiative with the Russian oligarchs, whom she had made acquaintances with while working in the Moscow bureau of the Financial Times newspaper.

Ukraine has been informed of such proposals.

It is emphasized that so far we are talking only about opportunities. No decisions have been made on this matter.

The West is interested in going in this direction, as it is very difficult to confiscate the frozen assets of Russian oligarchs who have fallen under sanctions.

Sources of the publication note that if businessmen give up part of their property in other countries, it will simplify the task for the West and help Ukraine financially.

Recall that among those who fell under Western sanctions were Russian businessmen Peter Aven and Mikhail Fridman.

Brussels has imposed restrictive measures against them in response to Russia’s actions in Ukraine.

According to European officials, Aven benefited from his connections in power, and Friedman established strong ties with the administration of Vladimir Putin.

On the eve it was reported that the British authorities did not lift sanctions against Aven and Friedman, despite the fact that they promised it after the businessmen transferred 150 million euros to Ukraine.

So, Aven and Friedman were recommended to donate money to Ukraine, which would help to remove restrictions.

The funds of the benefactors were unfrozen especially for charity, but after transferring a huge amount for refugees, the funds were frozen again.

Moreover, a criminal case was opened against Aven, and his art collection was arrested.

In addition, the businessmen were denied a one-time trip to the continent from the UK, threatened with imprisonment.

Earlier, topNews wrote that the UK had introduced restrictive measures against Alina Kabayeva.
