Politico: Europe has not accepted the 10th package of sanctions against Russia because of rubber

Poland supported the restrictions.

European countries have diverged in adopting the 10th package of sanctions against Russia. Germany and Italy did not accept sanctions because of synthetic rubber.

According to Politico, it was about the supply of Russian synthetic rubber to Europe.

It is used in the production of tires, which Italy and Germany cannot refuse.

Poland supported the adoption of restrictions.

“One of the controversial points is synthetic rubber, against which the (European – approx.) commission wants to impose sanctions,” writes Politico.

Meanwhile, only in 2021 Russia supplied synthetic rubber worth $2 billion.

A third of deliveries are to the EU countries.

Experts note that the “further the sanctions go,” the more difficult it will be for Europe to accept a common opinion.

It was reported that the new package of EU sanctions will include restrictions on relations between Tinkoff Bank, Rosbank, Alba Bank and the National Welfare Fund.

According to the plans, restrictions will be imposed on the import of asphalt from Russia to the EU countries.

Europe was going to limit the media groups that are engaged in propaganda.

As Topnews wrote earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic complained about European pressure and admitted that he would have to impose sanctions against Russia.
