The State Department insists on increasing transit flows “as soon as possible.”
The US State Department insists that Russia has increased the volume of gas supplies through Ukraine.
Washington recalled that Moscow had previously assured that it had enough natural gas to cover the needs of Europe.
This, according to Bloomberg, led to demands from the US State Department to increase the transit of fuel through Ukrainian territories.
The publication reports that this was stated on the eve of the representative of the department Amos Hochstein, who pointed out the need for such measures against the background of the pan-European gas crisis.
He explained that the US authorities are seriously alarmed by the previously announced refusal of the Russian company Gazprom to book increased transit volumes of fuel for October. According to Hochstein,
Ukraine has gas pipelines, the capacity of which will allow providing fuel to the EU countries. Why Russia should not abandon the growth of supplies to its neighbor.
“It should do this as soon as possible & #8221;, — Hochstein will voice the demands of the American side.
