Elon Musk’s fortune decreased by $50 billion in two days

Elon Musk's fortune decreased by $50 billion in two days

The billionaire lost more in a day than Bezos lost in the entire divorce.

The founder of the electric car manufacturer Tesla businessman and inventor Elon Musk lost about $50 billion in two days.

The reason for the fall in the income of the richest man in history was a survey in which Musk asked Twitter users whether he should sell 10% of the company’s shares. As a result, 3 million 519 thousand 252 people decided to participate in the voting, of which 57.9% voted in favor.

The poll on the sale of Tesla shares gained 115,000 likes, was reposted 36,500 times and scored 48,800 comments.

The owner of Tesla himself said that he intends to follow the advice of people. Musk stated that he does not receive a salary in his companies, so the only way he can pay taxes is to sell shares.

According to Bloomberg, the fall in the company’s stock prices continued for two days, during which Musk lost $ 50 billion.

At the moment, the difference between the fortune of Elon Musk and the capital of the owner of the Amazon Internet company Jeff Bezos is $ 83 billion.

Recall that the latter lost an impressive part of his income of $ 36 billion after a high-profile divorce from his wife Mackenzie.

As Forbes clarifies with reference to the Forbes Real-Time rating data, Musk’s fortune currently stands at $271 billion, which still leaves him in the position of the richest man in the world.  Bezos remains in second place with $205.9 billion.

Earlier, Topnews reported that Musk became the richest man in history with $289 billion.

Mass media: Putin brought down gas prices in the EU in one phrase

Mass media: Putin brought down gas prices in the EU with one phrase

The German edition of Welt made a superhero out of the Russian leader.

The authors of the German edition of Welt believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin managed to reduce gas prices in Europe with a single phrase.

In their opinion, this happened when the Russian leader instructed the management of Gazprom to switch to planned deliveries of an increased volume of natural gas to European gas storage facilities, to which the head of the enterprise Alexey Miller said that the task would be completed. Putin asked to be informed about the progress of the work.

The President explained that he would control the course of events.

After these words, natural gas prices in the Netherlands dropped by 15% at once, German journalists note.

“Putin’s almost casual remark made the European gas market breathe a sigh of relief,” they say.

The publication also reports that Russia’s dominant position in the gas market is now indisputable.

As Topnews wrote earlier, the Russian leader predicted a gas crisis in Europe 11 years ago, speaking at an economic forum in Germany.

Against the background of the crisis, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder made a statement about its causes.

According to him, many participants simply do not understand what the nature of the collapse is, and consider it sufficient to blame Russia for this situation, the politician said on the sidelines of the XIV Eurasian Economic Forum, which is being held in Verona (Italy).

If last year, against the background of the shutdown of production due to the pandemic, the supply of blue fuel was reduced, and the winter turned out to be warm, which also allowed saving fuel, then in 2021 the situation is different. The two factors already mentioned led to the lack of additional fuel reserves in the GPH, which caused prices to rise in the summer.

Schroeder stressed that the sources of gas supplies are Russia and Norway, liquefied fuel is delivered from the United States. Already this year, deliveries from Russia increased by 9%, and from Norway, on the contrary, decreased by 2 and 11% in two quarters.

LNG can fill the gas shortage, but the alternative to expensive gas pipeline supplies does not reach Europe, but China and Asian countries with their economic miracle, and fuel prices are rising again.

That is why, taking into account the facts, the accusations of Russia in the crisis seem unfounded to Schroeder.

“Are there any signs of competition between the United States and Russia? Of course there is,” the politician believes.

According to him, international security in the energy sector directly depends on how developed economic ties with supplier countries are, and long-term contracts become the best security for them. Therefore, the approach demonstrated by the European Union to reduce dependence on fuel supplies did not help verification in the sphere.

The politician sees the only way out in dialogue and cooperation, since both sides, both suppliers and exporters, depend on each other, MK reports.

Moscow authorities plan to abandon migrants at construction sites

Moscow authorities plan to abandon migrants at construction sites

The capital’s vice-mayor spoke about the reduction in the number of workers.

Moscow authorities are preparing a plan to reject migrants at construction sites in the capital. This was told by Vice-Mayor Andrey Bochkarev, who predicted global changes in the construction industry.

In an interview with RBC, Bochkarev said that a renovation program is being implemented in Moscow, but there are not enough personnel on construction sites – workers, engineers. The pandemic has also worsened the situation – many migrants have gone home.

Now 40 thousand out of 120 thousand workers remain in Moscow. At the moment, the lack of resources is 40%, Bochkarev notes.

It is also noted that natives of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan work at the capital’s construction sites, and previously most were from Tajikistan. At the same time, the number of residents of the Moscow region has also increased, but many specialists simply do not exist.

According to the vice-mayor, on average, migrants receive about 50-60 thousand rubles, i.e. the salary has increased by 2 times.

“But many already over 80 thousand do not want to work,” says Bochkarev.

Now the authorities are busy with the task of developing a strategy, during the implementation of which the construction sites will do without migrants. The construction process will require 3 times fewer people, but their salary will be 2-3 times more.

At the same time, according to the authorities, they will start building faster. So, instead of four workers, it will be possible to install an installation that will apply mortar to the wall.

The metropolitan authorities will also deal with the quality of education in the construction industry. Currently, only 10-15% of the time during studies is devoted to the methods of site management.

More time is spent on industrial construction – calculations, formulas, etc.

“You go to an American construction site, the workers are all hung with tools. Because they get their money for performance. It may seem like a trifle, but this is how one person replaces three. We need to create such educational programs,” says Bochkarev.

The Ministry of Economic Development supported the replacement of migrants by Russian citizens at construction sites. So, Deputy Minister Dmitry Volvach is sure that the idea will not be implemented immediately, but measures can already be taken now.

According to Volvach, it is important to focus on paid jobs, on Russian personnel and high-tech.

Volvach also proposed to attract trained migrants from neighboring countries to construction sites in Moscow.

In an interview with Lenta.” the idea of rejecting migrants was criticized by economist Alexey Korenev. According to him, the implementation of this program requires financial investments, the purchase of high-quality equipment, etc.

The expert also recalled that Vladimir Putin declared in 2020: Russia cannot do without migrants. The economist suggests that the vice-mayor wanted to “please Muscovites” who are tired of visitors.

As Topnews wrote earlier, the media reported on booklets in Moscow maternity hospitals, in which it was said in different languages about payments to migrants of 20 thousand rubles for the birth of the first child. 700 million rubles were allocated from the Moscow budget for this.

Kiev has offered Moscow an extension of the transit contract for gas

Kiev offered Moscow an extension of the transit contract for gas

The head of the “Operator of the GTS of Ukraine” Sergey Makogon outlined the conditions proposed by Kiev.

The head of the company “Operator of the GTS of Ukraine” Sergey Makogon said that before the expiration of the contract for the transit of gas from Russia through the country, Kiev is ready to conclude the next one.

He also outlined the conditions under which the Ukrainian side is ready to take such a step.

As quoted by his website “TSN”, Makogon announced the persistent offer of the Ukrainian side to extend the contract without waiting for its completion in 2024.

He explained that if Germany and the United States show interest in this, then Ukraine has such an opportunity, and it is ready to conclude a new agreement even today.

The term of the document, according to Makogon, can be 10 – 15 years, and the volume of transit gas is about 45 billion cubic meters per year.

However, according to the head of the company, Russia remained silent on the proposal of the Ukrainian side.

As for the promises previously made by the German and American sides about maintaining the transit flow after the launch of Sevpotok-2, they are not backed up by anything.

The term used by them in the statement on the topic, namely, to use gas as a weapon by the Russian side, he could not explain.

“In my opinion, Russia is already using gas as a weapon”, – said the head of the company.

He added that this is proved by gas prices, the shutdown of enterprises in Europe and their bankruptcy.

Recall that at the moment, within the framework of the Russian-Ukrainian agreement, Gazprom will pump 65 billion cubic meters of gas through Ukrainian territory in the first year and 40 billion cubic meters each in four more years, until 2024.

As explained by the head of the company Alexey Miller, in the future the volume of transit will be regulated by the technical state of Ukrainian systems and economic feasibility.

As Topnews wrote, in early September, the FSB accused Ukrainian intelligence of sabotage on a gas pipeline in Crimea.

Musk became the richest man in history

Musk became the richest man in history

The fortune of the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, thanks to the growth in the value of the shares of the electric car manufacturer, has grown to $289 billion,

By Monday evening, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, became the richest man in history, overtaking Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (212 billion dollars) in the Forbes list.

Now Musk’s fortune exceeds $ 271.2 billion, which became possible after a sharp jump in the value of Tesla shares by 13% after the publication of the company’s reports and a large number of orders of electric vehicles by Hertz.

Also, as a result, the value of Tesla itself exceeds $ 1 trillion.

Back in September, Musk’s fortune was estimated at $203.4 billion. However, it has approached $300 billion for the first time.

It is noted that the sharp increase in Musk’s fortune could have been influenced by his latest statement, where he condemned the latest tax proposals, according to which holders of a fortune of more than $ 100 million would be required to pay increased taxes on shares and bonds owned for at least three years.

Moldova bought gas for the first time not from Russia

Moldova bought gas for the first time not from Russia

The purchase amount will be 1 million cubic meters.

The state-owned companies of Moldova and Poland, Energocom and PGNiG, signed a contract under which the Polish side undertakes to supply 1 million cubic meters of gas. This volume will arrive in the country on October 26.

According to representatives of the Moldovan government, the delivery is testing, because in the history of the country there have been no purchases not from Gazprom.

In addition, the authorities’ message indicates their intention to balance the low pressure in the natural gas supply system.

It is not reported at what price the blue fuel will be purchased.

It is known that the market price for fuel is about $ 1,000 per 1,000 cubic meters, Russia supplies them for 790, although in 2020 Moldova paid about 150 for a similar volume.

Recall that the decision to find a new supplier was made after the announcement of the energy crisis regime in the country on October 22.

According to RBC, with the normative 3 billion cubic meters per year (1.8 billion consumed by Transnistria), the contract with Gazprom expires in Chisinau in November.

The Russian side, namely Gazprom, offers Moldova a price 25% lower than the market price under the new agreement. The condition is the payment of the debt – 709 million dollars.

Official Chisinau does not agree to such conditions and insists on conducting an audit that would establish how such a debt appeared.

According to Moldovan Prime Minister Andrei Spynu, the countries agreed to conduct a joint inspection.

As for the contract with the People’s Republic of Moldova, fuel will be supplied to Moldova through checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. It is known that the tender for the supply was won by Warsaw in cooperation with ERU (Ukrainian-American group of companies).

In addition, against the background of the crisis in Moldova, Ukraine has pledged to supply 700 million cubic meters of fuel to its neighbor and another 16 million on condition of return, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, Topnews wrote that earlier, Moldovan President Sandu demanded that the Russian military leave the country. She did it from the rostrum of the UN.

Political scientist: Putin predicted a gas crisis in Europe 11 years ago

Political scientist: Putin predicted a gas crisis in Europe 11 years ago

According to the Russian leader in 2010, countries will have to go to Siberia for firewood.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared 11 years ago that Europe is threatened by a gas crisis, because EU countries refuse to conclude long-term contracts with Russia.

As political analyst Nikita Danyuk reminded the media in the Youtube show “Let me Say”, Vladimir Putin, who was then prime minister of the country, announced such a prospect at an economic forum in Berlin.

He pointed out that the crisis could threaten Europe due to the unwillingness to develop nuclear energy and pointed out that Germany is conducting an inefficient energy policy.

Then Putin expressed bewilderment at what the German authorities were going to do to drown the country.

“You don’t want gas, you don’t develop nuclear energy… And what are you going to do with firewood?” he said.

The prime minister added that Germany would otherwise have to go to Siberia for them, causing loud laughter from those present.

Danyuk stressed that the president, who perfectly understands the situation in the world, is a “brilliant strategist”, who more than 10 years ago turned out to be able to predict the energy crisis to which Europe is condemning itself.

According to the political scientist, Putin already understood the danger posed by spot fuel prices, and pointed to the prospects of long-term contracts, relying on common sense, and not selfish intent.

As Topnews wrote earlier, Poland’s lawsuit against Gazprom led to a sharp jump in prices for natural gas in Europe.

Economist Delyagin spoke about the imminent “reset” of Russians’ savings, calling the timing

Economist Delyagin spoke about the imminent

The specialist told when the savings of citizens of the Russian Federation will be “reset”.

Economist Mikhail Delyagin made a forecast according to which by the end of 2021, inflation in the Russian Federation may exceed the level of 7.4 percentage points.

On the air of the YouTube channel “Aurora ” he admitted that such a devaluation of money would actually entail the devaluation of the ruble.

This, in turn, will lead to the zeroing of the savings of Russian citizens.

According to the expert, if goods continue to rise in price, and this process will not be able to slow down by the beginning of next year, then in January Russia will enter a new round of inflation after the recovery of activity on the way out of the holidays.

Delyagin pointed out the likelihood of a repeat of last year’s scenario, when goods quickly rose in price by mid-January.

He is confident that an increase in the key rate will not bring significant results and, on the contrary, may even lead to an aggravation of the situation in macroeconomics.

“An increase in the Central Bank’s key rate will not give tangible results, but, on the contrary, may provoke an aggravation of the macroeconomic situation, ”, – he said.

Delyagin added that the two main problems in our economy are the so-called money hunger and the shortage of money in circulation, which is aggravated by the rate increase.

Earlier, topNews wrote that Delyagin warned Russians with deposits about the imminent “big collapse ” of the dollar.

The specialist told what awaits holders of ruble deposits.

The dollar and the euro collapsed after the increase in the key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation

By the way, Senator Vasily Ikonnikov is confident that an increase in the key rate will lead to an increase in the cost of loans, as well as to curbing economic activity in Russia.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, he said that he did not welcome the decision of the Central Bank.

He is confident in the need to look for other instruments to curb inflation, pointing to the NWF, whose funds are not being used.

“It is necessary to change the financial and economic policy”, – the member of the Federation Council is sure.

The next meeting of the Bank of Russia on the key rate is scheduled for December 17.
