The country that has overtaken Russia in gas supplies to Europe is named

Western media believe that Russia’s competitor is in no hurry to rush to the EU’s aid.

Western media state that in the coming winter Europe could count on gas from Norway, which managed to overtake Russia in terms of the amount of fuel supplied to EU countries.

However, according to Telegram, Oslo does not intend to sell fuel at low prices or offer a discount to EU countries that are not part of the union.

In 2022, Norway plans to produce 122 billion cubic meters of gas by the end of the year.

According to the head of the Ministry of Economy Terje Aasland in an interview with Reuters, the country will maintain the same level of production until 2030, relying, among other things, on the agreement with the EU on expanding cooperation in the field.

At the same time, Norwegian exports are not threatened by an increase in demand on the domestic market, since Norway relies on electricity coming from hydroelectric power plants inside the country.

Security agreements and an agreement with the EU, as well as large reserves of practically unused gas, make Norway a very reliable supplier, analysts say.

The country still supplies Europe with almost all of its gas (the western part of the continent) and 70% of its oil. 5 pipelines with an annual capacity of 130 billion cubic meters are working for this.

The obstacle is the unwillingness of Oslo to sell gas below market value, which is breaking records this year.

According to the Minister of Energy, it is necessary to remember the simple principle of the market: rising prices with a shortage stimulates the growth of production and guarantees the flow of gas to where it is needed.

The Swiss, whose house will be warmer in winter +19 ° C, face prison

The Swiss, whose house will be warmer in winter +19°C, face prison

The maximum temperature in the homes of Swiss residents in winter should not exceed 19 degrees. The Swiss authorities have introduced administrative responsibility for warming houses above certain temperatures.

The temperature, which is permissible in houses next winter, should not exceed 19 degrees, water heating through gas boilers should not exceed 60.

Otherwise, as explained by the representative of the Department of Economics of DEF Markus Sperndli, those responsible are waiting for either fines, or, in the case of intentional actions, criminal punishment – imprisonment for up to three years.

According to the official, such actions will be considered violations of the country’s law on supply. At the same time, citizens will be prosecuted by default.

The reason for the publication Blick, which refers to the document of the Ministry of Economy, is the energy crisis that the country is experiencing due to anti-Russian sanctions and the resulting lack of fuel.

In addition to residential buildings, they will also save on tents with hot air and heaters.

Saunas and swimming pools will not work, but only if you need to save even more on fuel.

The authorities made an exception for hospitals, maternity hospitals and nursing homes.

The amount of the fine will be up to 180 daily rates, one is about 30 Swiss francs, but the total amount should not exceed 3,000 francs. The amount, according to Sperndley, is determined by the accompanying circumstances, and the number of bets on the fine – the degree of guilt.

Earlier, Switzerland has already introduced a plan for crisis measures.

For example, the shutdown of illuminated storefronts, heaters, the introduction of electricity quotas, gas savings and a likely plan to turn off the lights for 4-8 hours a day.

Bloomberg: Russia expects a deep recession for 10 years

Bloomberg: Russia expects a deep recession for 10 years

The publication named the most disappointing scenarios of the Russian government.

Russia may fall into an economic recession as a result of EU and US sanctions because of the threat to those industries on which it has relied for years in its income, Western experts believe.

As the authors of Bloomberg write with reference to an internal report of the Government of the Russian Federation, of the three scenarios in the document, two demonstrate that an economic downturn will grow in Russia in 2023.

Analysts say that the economy will fall, and it will be able to return to the level before the start of its own only in ten years or later.

The first, “inertial” scenario includes an economy falling by 8.3% below the level of 2021 already in 2023.

The second, “stressful” assumes that in 2024 the drop will reach 11.9% compared to 2023. All this will happen against the background of increasing sanctions pressure.

The Russian government assumes that more countries will introduce restrictive measures, and the EU’s rejection of Russian oil and gas will hit the economic ability of the authorities to provide the market.

In addition to the sanctions affecting 1/4 of Russian imports and exports, a technical blockade is predicted, which affects all types of transport, including automprom and supplies of equipment and parts.

The third difficulty lies in the shortage of professional personnel, primarily IT specialists, who can leave the Russian Federation in an amount equal to 200,000. The document confirms the so-called brain drain.

However, Bloomberg also points out that the measures led to the crisis not only of the Russian Federation, but also of the initiators of sanctions.

As an example, the data of the German Bundesbank are given, the projected autumn inflation in the country in the amount of “double digits ”. In Britain, inflation has already reached 10% for the first time in four decades.

Experts of the publication say that the risk of economic recession in Europe reaches its maximum values for the first time since November 2020.

The European Commission and Siemens spoke about the complete shutdown of the Nord Stream

The European Commission and Siemens have spoken about the complete shutdown of the

Gazprom’s decision caused a violent reaction in Europe.

Russia’s decision to stop the Nord Stream was considered cynical by the European Commission.

The head of the EC press service Eric Mamer writes about this on Twitter.

According to him, the decision confirms the unreliability of Gazprom as a supplier, and Russia, according to him, shows cynicism, as it burns gas instead of fulfilling the contract.

Recall that earlier “Gazprom” announced a forced stop of gas pumping along the “Nord Stream ” due to an oil leak in the gas pumping unit.

Against this background, representatives of Siemens Energy announced their readiness to participate in the repair of the turbine.

According to RIA Novosti, the company clarified that now they have not received a contract for repairs on the gas pipeline, but the company is ready to do maintenance.

In addition, the organization noted that it had taken note of Gazprom’s statement about engine problems. However, the company does not believe that the problems described by the Russian company can serve as a reason for stopping the Nord Stream.

In turn, the American media reports that Berlin is trying not to panic because of the situation with the Nord Stream.

At the same time, Germany and a number of other EU countries are preparing for a cold winter due to fuel shortages.

The US believes that the impact of Gazprom will put serious pressure on the German economy. Because of this, the country is preparing to introduce energy consumption standards.

In addition, Berlin is trying to establish gas supplies from Norway and Qatar, although these measures will not help the country much in the near future.

“Economy Minister Robert Habek said that Russian gas will not be completely replaced until at least 2024, ”, – reports CBS News.

Earlier, topNews wrote that Gazprom had stopped Nord Stream indefinitely.

The reasons for stopping the turbine became known to journalists.

Russia has indefinitely stopped the Nord Stream

Russia has indefinitely stopped

The reasons for the shutdown of the gas turbine are named.

Gazprom has stopped the transmission of gas through the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline for an indefinite period. The reason is the troubleshooting of the turbine from Siemens .

The company’s press service says that the decision to stop the pipeline operation was made following the results of the maintenance of GPA No. 24 at the Portovaya CS.

During the inspection, several places with oil leaks were found.

An act was drawn up on this fact, where there are also signatures of representatives of Siemens, and Rostechnadzor of the Russian Federation issued a warning that with such malfunctions, safe operation of the gas turbine engine is impossible.

Against this background, it was decided to suspend further operation of the Trent 60 gas pumping unit until all malfunctions were eliminated.

At the same time, Siemens reported that troubleshooting is possible only at a special repair facility.

Gazprom has already sent a letter about the identified problems to the management of Siemens Energy AG.

Earlier, Topnews wrote that Gazprom played on Siemens’ demands and signed a verdict on Europe.

The G7 countries decided to introduce a ceiling on prices for Russian oil. Moscow reacted

The G7 countries decided to introduce a ceiling on prices for Russian oil. Moscow reacted

The prospects of the solution were assessed by Deputy Head of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

The finance ministries of the G7 member countries, namely Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, Japan and the USA, decided to impose restrictions on the prices of Russian gas supplied to Europe and other countries.

According to Sky News, with reference to a statement published by the UK government, the Finance Ministers called for a coalition to appear that will support price restrictions on the Russian product.

The G7 document states that such a political intention is supported by all participants and it consists in a comprehensive ban on services for the sea transportation of crude oil and petroleum products of Russian origin around the world.

The condition for allowing such services is the purchase at a price below the ceiling determined by a coalition of countries that accept and implement this ceiling.

Judging by the verdict of the G7 countries, the aim of the measure is to reduce Russian revenues and the ability of the Russian Federation to “finance its aggressive war.”

As for the scheme for setting the ceiling, but the initial limit will be formed on the basis of a number of technical data and agreed upon by the entire coalition.

The second G7 measure was an appeal to oil-producing countries to increase production, thereby reducing market volatility.

It is known that the measures are supposed to be introduced as early as February 5, 2023. And on September 1, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak said that Russia refuses to supply oil to participants in setting the ceiling of prices.

Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in his TG channel assessed the prospects of Russian gas supplies to the European Union, if the EU decides to introduce restrictive measures, a ceiling on fuel prices.

The politician believes that in this case, Russian gas will simply disappear from the EU. According to him, “auntie von der Leyen” said that it was time to introduce measures for pipeline Russian gas.

“It will be like with oil. There will simply be no Russian gas in Europe, the deputy head of the Security Council said.

Daily Mail: in the UK, Putin was accused of problems with road repairs

Daily Mail: in the UK, Putin was accused of problems with road repairs

British road workers can’t buy bitumen to plug potholes.

In the UK, employees of road services cannot afford to buy bitumen in order to plug potholes.

According to the Daily Mail, the road workers do not have enough money for this.

The culprit of such a situation in the UK was called Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The publication notes that before the start of the SVO, about 60% of bitumen used for road repairs in the UK was supplied from Russia.

Now the authorities have to normalize the consumption of the material and search for it in other markets, and this increases the costs and deadlines of the work.

The cost of maintaining roads in England and Wales has increased by 22%. In addition, the repair time was delayed.

Experts estimated the costs of correcting the situation at $14 billion.

The deputy chairman of the Central Bank said that the foreign currency accounts of Russians have become “de facto ruble”

The deputy Chairman of the Central Bank said that the foreign currency accounts of Russians have become

According to Dmitry Tulin, deposits should be made only in a certain currency.

The first deputy head of the Central Bank Dmitry Tulin, in an interview with the media, said that the economic essence of foreign currency deposits in Russian banks had changed against the background of anti-Russian sanctions. So, they, in fact, turned into “ruble”.

According to him, the risks of storing deposits in the currency of “ friendly ” country at the same time are low.

Tulin explained that it is increasingly difficult for banks to fulfill obligations on “toxic” currencies, and the deposits themselves “actually turn into ruble-denominated ones linked to the exchange rate.”

If we talk about the introduction of a commission for the storage of currency by banks, then this is logical, but the measure is unlikely to be popular.

Thus, the expert believes, banks squeeze funds out of foreign currency clients for the sake of customer benefit. And such a “good deed” does not benefit the credit institutions themselves.

In his opinion, it is safer for clients to use the currency of those countries that do not apply sanctions against the Russian Federation, and although there are theoretically risks that they will change their decision, practice shows otherwise.

“The geographical distribution of geopolitical risks is quite stable and predictable,” Tulin believes.

According to the Central Bank, in June 2022, the share of foreign currency deposits of individuals fell to 11.5%, the forecast for next year is 10%.

Rane Topnews wrote that the deposit tax will affect Russians with deposits from 70,000 rubles.

Gazprom played on the demands of Siemens and signed the “verdict” Europe

«Gazprom» played on the demands of Siemens and signed “verdict” Europe

Analysts point to an unprecedented rise in prices.

The price of gas in Europe has updated the historical maximum due to the upcoming shutdown of the Nord Stream.

Russian energy expert Boris Martsinkevich said that Gazprom played on the requirements presented to it by Siemens. Namely, the Russian supplier was able to update the historical maximum in fuel prices on the eve of the shutdown of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

So, according to Marcinkevich, at the end of August, the price of 1,000 cubic meters of fuel exceeded the $ 3,500 mark. Already on August 29, the cost went down to less than 3,000 per thousand cubic meters, but still remains extremely difficult for the modern economy of Europe.

The analyst believes that the prices were influenced by information about repairs at the fields in Norway, as well as information about the early shutdown of “SP-1”.

According to Gazprom, the pipeline will be suspended on August 31 for at least three days. The reason is the repair of the last turbine, which is still working for the supply of fuel.

Such a requirement, according to Marcinkevich, was presented by the Siemens company servicing the equipment. According to its terms, the turbine should be used for prevention after 1,000 hours of uninterrupted operation.

“If no serious defects are found as a result of the inspection, he will continue working,” the expert explained.

He believes that the company simply took advantage of the terms of the contract, so there can be no question of any political will of Moscow here.

It is known that now “SP-1 ” operates with a capacity of 20% and remains the only pipeline through which supplies go directly to Germany. Other channels, including the GTS (Poland) and Ukraine, either work in reverse or with restrictions.

Speaking on the Radio Aurora YouTube channel, Marcinkevich joked that Siemens could send a serious specialist, Olaf Scholz, for an inspection. However, in the event that the German Chancellor does not appear at this moment somewhere in Qatar or Canada.

“Siemens was looking for LNG there – there is no LNG in Canada, but Scholz came to look for it,” the analyst quipped.

Earlier, Topnews wrote that according to the Finnish YLE, the Russian supplier began to burn fuel that is not in demand by suppliers. And the British edition The Daily Express reports that Russia may deliver a fatal blow to the EU on September 2.
