Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the adoption of new measures to support Russians and the Russian economy against the background of sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia. The Head of state called the goal the growth of welfare and quality of life of citizens, stating this as a key and unchanging priority of state policy.

The list of measures announced by the head of state includes the indexation of pensions for non-working pensioners by 10%, and an increase in the subsistence minimum and minimum wage by the same amount.

It is also assumed that some payments to military personnel will grow.

Pension and minimum wage increases from June 1, 2022: latest news

The size of the indexation of pensions and the subsistence minimum was announced by the Minister of Labor of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov.

According to him, the subsistence minimum for the able–bodied population will be 15,172 rubles, pensioners – 11,970, children – 13,501.

When pensions are indexed by 10%, they will grow for 35 million Russians, RIA Novosti quotes him. The average amount of pension payments will be 19,360 rubles.

As Kotyakov explained, pensions will be calculated individually. He pointed out that there is no need to submit an application for payments that depend on the PM – indexing will take place automatically.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov said that all the decisions of the president will require an additional 600 billion rubles in 2022 (1 trillion in 2023), which will be allocated by the federal center.

Indexation of pensions in 2022 for non-working pensioners: by how many percent

Pensioners who quit in February of this year will start receiving increased pensions from June 1, and the payments due to him from March will be indexed as a non-working pensioner. Data on these three months is provided by the employer to the FIU.

Thus, in June, the pensioner will receive money for three months at once – March, April, May.

The average size of the old-age insurance pension of non-working pensioners on average in 2022 is 18,984 rubles, according to the AIF.

Citizens who have already turned 80 in May will double the fixed payment to the old-age insurance pension, its amount will be 13,128 rubles 62 kopecks.

As for former military and law enforcement officers, in June they will also receive a superannuation payment if they have already reached retirement age for 2022 (61.5 years for men, 56.5 years for women).

One more condition – at least 13 years of insurance experience “as a citizen” at work outside the law enforcement agencies.

It is specified that the amount of pension points – from 23.4.

Also, this category of pensioners is the only one who needs to apply to the FIU. It is indicated that the average payout amount will be 3,300 rubles.

Minimum wage

Andrei Isaev, a State Duma deputy and a member of the Committee on Social Policy, told about the indexation of the minimum wage. The changes will require amendments to the budget, which must be promptly changed by deputies. According to him, there is a reserve of funds in the treasury.

Thus, non-working pensioners will be able to receive updated payments in June 2022. This was confirmed by the deputy head of the social committee of the Federation Council Elena Bibikova.

She explained that it is enough for the Cabinet of Ministers to issue an order, because at the beginning of 2022 such functions were presented to the Government of the Russian Federation by law.
