Google in Russia has started bankruptcy proceedings

Due to the arrest of a bank account, the Russian office stops working.

The media found out about the bankruptcy procedure of the Russian daughter of Google. This is due to the arrest of the bank account.

According to RBC, Google suspended the vast majority of commercial operations in Russia some time ago. Due to the seizure of the bank account, it is impossible to pay employees salaries, pay for supplies, and the work of contractors.

Google explained that other financial obligations are also impossible.

After this message, Google representatives said that their services continue to work in Russia. The search engine, YouTube video hosting, Gmail, Maps, Android and Play work for free.

“We know that people in Russia rely on our services to access high-quality information, and we will continue to provide free services,” a statement was made to Google.

The company’s press service also assured that the bankruptcy of the Russian daughter and the closure of the office in Russia will not affect Google’s work in the country in the future.

By the way, Russia has assured that they will not close Youtube.

“We are not planning to close Youtube. When we restrict something, we must clearly understand that our users do not suffer,” said Maksut Shadaev, head of the Ministry of Finance.

As Topnews wrote earlier, Russian developers have made a domestic analogue of Google Play – the NashStore app store.

The store presents Russian applications, including banking applications that have been sanctioned.
